In short
This site sets only one cookie, and only if you switch the language at the top: it remembers your choice (German or English) for one year and contains nothing else. Fonts and videos are served from the same server as the site. For anonymous visitor statistics I use Umami on my own server. I only process personal data if you write to me through the form.
Visitor statistics with Umami
To see how the site is used, I count visits with Umami, an open-source software that I run myself (at analytics.worksystems.design, hosted by Railway). Umami sets no cookies and stores no IP addresses. It records the page visited, the referring page, browser, operating system, device type and country, plus which sections of the page appeared on screen and whether someone downloaded the A4 sheet, clicked a pilot button, or started or submitted the pilot form, never with any content. None of this allows conclusions about you as a person. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in improving the site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Hosting and server logs
The site is run by Railway Corporation, San Francisco, USA. Access goes through Cloudflare, Inc., San Francisco, USA, which delivers the site and protects it from attacks. When you open the site, both process technically necessary data: IP address, time, requested address, browser identifier. This serves the secure operation of the site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). For the transfer to the USA, the providers rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or on standard contractual clauses.
Pilot form
If you book an intro call, the form sends your name, your email address and your text to MailerLite (UAB “MailerLite”, Vilnius, Lithuania). There the details are kept in a separate list, apart from newsletters. I use them only to get back to you about the call (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, steps prior to entering into a contract). You will not receive a newsletter because of this. A data processing agreement is in place with MailerLite.
I delete the details if the request does not lead to a pilot, at the latest twelve months after your request. If it leads to a pilot, the statutory retention periods apply.
Your rights
You can request information about your data, have it corrected or deleted, restrict its processing, object to it, and receive your data in a common format. An email to me is enough. You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of Baden-Württemberg.
